The Black Gate Ghost

I run the Newcastle ghost walks and each you we do a massive Halloween event in the oldest part of Newcastle. We also run a Witches ghost walk along with extreme ghost walks where people can use the Ouija board in graveyards. We have been doing this since 2007 and in that time I have seen many odd things and not just the normal drunk Saturday night drinkers but some really scary stuff.
I have seen a black shadow figure at the black gate many, many times and we have even had staff quite due to the ghostly goings on. In 2010 i started a local paranormal radio show on community radio NE1fm 102.5 with Metro radio’s Chris Felton and we launched on Halloween 2010 live from the most haunted part of Newcastle the Castle Garth.
That night I introduced the guys to some really scary areas where the dead do wander.

On the walks I have heard a crying lady on the Castle steps but upon inspection the wailing sound was disembodied, believed to be that of Catherine Duffy who was murdered on the Castle steps in the 1800s.

I have seen a little girl at the black gate and also an old women was seen by 15 ghost walkers on a murder tour. A lady on the tour first noticed a lady rubbing her hands together, as she looked up so did others and they witnessed a gray haired lady vanish. They described her as wearing a brown wool blanket.

In St Nicholas graveyard we have had ghost footsteps and I have even been pushed off a wall in front of walkers while telling the ghost stories.

I also took this photo at the cathedral during a ghost walk and caught what we think is a ghost man. There is also a ghost photo taken by one of the ghost walkers of a black shadow shape vanishing at the Black Gate.
